I am such an avid book reader. Admittedly, I kind of tossed it aside for a long while, however, reading has always stood the test of time to be my therapeutic lover. It's like that one person you always seem to link back up with as if you never lost contact. It is so 'au courant' to me. Despite the ever growing reign of social media, it still holds to be a rather delicious balance of lush soaked in goodness, no comparison. There is so much to be gained from being consumed to the max in a world outside of my every day reality. I find healing through reading. Being engulfed in classic ink-tainted pages, filled to the brim with depth and elegance, is unparalleled.
Gently glazed below are a few benefits I attest to with this lovely art form:
•It's mental 'weight lifting'. Strengthen and tone those intellectual muscles!
•It elevates your vocabulary and strengthens your own writing.
•It allows you to explore and mentally travel without leaving your personal place of solitude. (I like to whip it in with jazz or soundscapes gently playing in the background and a nice beverage.)
•You can become more culturally aware and well-rounded.
I could go on.
Find a good book and get lost in it for yourself! I'll even be your work out partner in 'between the covers', haha. ;)
